Maruti expects 20 percent growth in 2010

Maruti Suzuki is expecting 20% growth in sales in 2010 fiscal year. A senior Maruti-Suzuki official said today.

2009 has been a great year for automakers in India and Maruti-Suzuki expects the trend to go on in the next fiscal year too.

“Maruti’s car sales have risen 27 percent during the eight months to November and is expected to be good in December as well. Growth numbers for the fourth quarter may not look so great as the higher base effect will start kicking in from January” Shashank Srivastava, the company’s chief general manager of marketing, told reporters at an event to announce the launch of EECO.
