As a 1955 Aston Martin DB3S goes under the auctioneers hammer on August 17th, it will go down in the annuls of history as being one of the most expensive British cars ever sold. This unique and priceless classic is just one of 21 such vehicles ever built by Aston Martin and with its price tag it is bound to draw the attention of some of the collectors and big wigs in the auctioning scene.

Painted a bright orange, the Aston Martin DB3S is a luxury sports car par excellence. It is not only spectacular in appearance but maintained in pristine condition. It was earlier in the possession of Hans Davids, a Dutch motorsport aficionado who raced it in England after which the car made its way to the US. DB3S now is up for auction by RM Auctions Monterey on August 17th and experts peg its worth at £2.5 million. This vehicle has a chassis number 118 and is fitted with a 3 liter engine producing 210 bhp.
