An anonymous philanthropist has donated his 1990 Bentley Turbo R to the Historics at Brookland to be auctioned on November 24, 2012. The proceeds of this auction will go towards paying for an operation to be conducted on Steven Brown, a 25 year old from Hayes, Middlesex who has been diagnosed with a rare malignant brain tumor. Unable to raise sufficient funds for this expensive and critical operation, the philanthropist has stepped in, in a rather bighearted way.
Brown, who was diagnosed with this rare disease in August 2010 has undergone intensive and high doses of chemotherapy and other treatment which has failed to act favorably on the tumor which doctors in the UK found practically inoperable due to its delicate and sensitive location in the brain. However, Steven’s parents have found a specialist at a medical institute in Los Angeles in the USA who is confident of this expensive and intensive procedure and hence the need to raise funds.
Steven’s parents are grateful to the generous donor of this legendary vehicle which will be auctioned, while Historics will be adding to auctioned amount in the form of all fees and commissions received from its sale. Steven’s parents have also appealed to public to spread word about upcoming auction and the dire situation they are in.
