Maruti today launched Eeco at Auto Expo 2010 at an introductory price of Rs. 2.6 lakhs.
The car is powered by a 1200 CC engine and designed specifically for Indian roads. The car is compliant with Bharat Stage IV emission norms. The car comes with a 5 seater and 7 seater arrangements and thus offers to be the best family car in market in terms of space and comfort.
The car is set to be staged in Commonwealth Games and expected to initially sell 40,000 units annually.
"Maruti Suzuki engineers have specially developed the Eeco, its new powerful engine and a new transmission system to meet the diverse consumer aspirations that look for a vehicle that fit a large family and at the same time provides flexibility for dual use," Maruti Suzuki India MD and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi told reporters.
