Appears that one can get a sneak preview of the 2011 VW Passat according to a Norwegian website. It seems a VW dealer leaked the picture. However, a critical review of the leaked images does throw up a few doubts, especially since the image looks more like a photo job, than an actual image. Authenticity of the leaked image is difficult to ascertain but the image does look similar to pictures that were previously leaked on the AutoBild site.
A look at the leaked image certainly ascertains similarities with the Polo, and, Vento. The pic reveals new headlights, and chiseled body panels. The changes give the car a more angular appeal. It seems even the fog lamps, grille and the lines on the side have undergone a noticeable change.
Features on the inside include:
• new instrument set
• new dash
• better materials
• multi-function steering wheel
Its Europe debut will see the car boast petrol, and diesel options. There'll also be sedan, station wagon, and hybrid models available. An early debut next year will see the VW Passat priced at Rs. 20 lakh for Indian customers.
