2013 Audi R8 India launch today: China gets limited edition
India will get the new Audi R8 sportscar today. Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India, revealed the news via his twitter account. He adds, Audi will unveil the most advanced sportscar, & segment leader in India in Dehli today along with additional surprises.
Each of these ‘limited to 30′ examples will feature a host of luxury updates which will include 10” Y spoke wheels, matte carbon fiber on mirrors, side blades and rear wing. Aluminum gear knob with individual numbering of 1-33 will be evident, with special attention to exclude numbers of 1, 14 and 24 in keeping with the tetra phobic Chinese culture. In Chinese, the pronunciation of the word ’4′ closely resembles their word for death and is hence avoided in most situations. Interiors boast of sports seats in shark skin black Alcantara leather.
Where engine details are concerned, this R8 limited edition will sport a 5.2 liter V10 engine that offers 525 hp power and 530 Nm torque. The engine is mated to an R tronic transmission and quattro all wheel drive. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is completed in 3.9 seconds. Pricing of this unique model will start at 2,628,000 Yuan ($422,820 or Rs 2.27 crores).
