First ever 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Convertible was put on display and up for auction at Barrett Jackson. The very first production model was auctioned for a price of $600,000, proceeds of which will be going for charity.

Excitement was high when the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 made an entry. Bidding commenced almost immediately and reached six figures in double quick time. What added to the excitement mid way through the auction was the extra luxury benefits on offer which included a Jeff Gordon racing suit and VIP trip to 2012 Daytona 500 which made bidders renew their bidding to reach the half million mark to even escalate further to reach a final figure of $600,000.

Ron Pratte was the new owner of the car and interestingly he was also one who had bid highest at Barrett Jackson's previous charity auctions. A well wisher even added a further $100,000 to $600,000 that the car was auctioned for so that it would further help 'AARP Drive for Hunger' charity.
