Tuesday, February 12, 2013 will see the Chicago Auto Show hold its special annual Woman’s Day events. This will give women an opportunity to enter into what was once looked upon as an entirely male dominated arena. This market has undergone a major shift in the past few years with women having more purchasing power and emerging as automobile buyers on a common platform.
As per Forbes list, women represent 52 percent of new car buyers across the United States. As on date, and as per a study conducted by University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute, there are also more women than men who hold driver’s licenses in the US with this gap on the increase. It is with this aim in mind that the Chicago Auto Show 2013 has created a special Woman’s Day to portray the importance of woman buyers in today’s day and age.
There will be special professional woman guest speakers, manicure stations, desserts counters and other attractions for the female viewer while entry fees will be at a 50% discount tagged at just $6 per ticket for female participants at the Chicago Auto Show. At the 2013 Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place, Volkswagen is showcasing a host of vehicles. This includes the limited-edition Beetle GSR, two GTI special edition trims, and Beetle Convertible R-line amongst others.
