Fiat Chrysler to reveal 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel SUV at 2013 Detroit Show

As 2012 LA Auto Show draws to a close, auto companies are gearing up for the next big thing, 2013 Detroit Auto Show, which is scheduled for a start form January 13th 2013 at Cobo Hall, Detroit, MI. New Year will see a host of new vehicles on display and among them, Jeep will be showcasing their diesel variant of the 2013 Grand Cherokee, with a premiere at 2013 Detroit Auto Show. This diesel variant is something that is most awaited and will also offer better driving dynamics along with marked reduction in both internal noise, external sound and vibrations.

As per inputs received, 2013 Grand Cherokee will possess a 3.0 liter turbodiesel V6 engine which is also offered on the European model, which results in production of 237 hp and 406 lb/ft torque. Fuel efficiency is also pegged at 28 mpg on a combined cycle. This diesel variant will be produced from company’s Jefferson North plant in Michigan for which the company had already taken on additional 1100 workers while sales are expected to commence from first quarter of 2013.

While 2014 Grand Cherokee has not been actually viewed, it was recently caught on test in an uncamouflaged stance where it was noted to have LED head and tail lights while it can be expected to sport a Chrysler 8.4” touchscreen up front. Pricing of the diesel variant of 2013 Grand Cherokee is yet undisclosed and could be revealed closer to launch dates. Fiat Chrysler has confirmed to launch Jeep in India next year
