2014 Acura MDX compact luxury SUV at NAIAS, 2013 Detroit Auto Show

Acura, the luxury vehicle division of Honda showcased a prototype of their Acura MDX SUV at the Detroit Auto Show 2013. The vehicle itself will be produced from the Honda auto assembly plant in Talladega County for which the Japanese auto maker has been adding jobs and capacities to their Alabama plant to get set for production operations.

The luxury compact 2014 Acura MDX SUV images reflect new exterior design lines, and is slightly shorter in length.This will be the first Acura to be produced in the state with mass production to commence later this year. There is a lot riding on the success of Acura MDX SUV since this MDX is a top seller in the US representing about a third of overall sales.

Acura customers have always shown preference for MDX due to its sporty performance. In November 2012 MDX was a top seller in the US with sales touching the 3,368 mark, up 2% as compared to the same month a year ago. The Honda Alabama plant also produces the Odyssey minivan, Pilot SUV and Ridgeline pickup.
