2014 Honda One Make Race-Round 1 at BIC
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) this weekend conducted its Round-1 of One Make Race at Buddh International Circuit (BIC) Noida, from 21st- 23rd March, 2014. Honda One Make Race saw professional bikers from across India compete in 2 races each in Honda CBR-250 and Honda CBR-150 categories.This motorsport event provides a ‘Fun Riding Experience’ to participants and spectators in a safe and controlled environment.
Honda CBR 250R category was under Team Championship. CBR 250R performance bikes (modified with imported HRC performance kits for an exhilarating output) were leased to teams registered at FMSCI. Honda further supports participating teams with Original Spare parts worth Rs. 10,000 and a set of replacement tyres for each round. Through support arces at BIC thsi weekend for India’s maiden tata Motors 1 PRIMA Truck Racing Championship, Honda introduced it’s CBR 150R Novice category at BIC to promote racing amongst new riders.
10 expert riders from 3 teams competed in the Team Championship for CBR 250R race. 18 riders participated in the CBR 150R Novice Category including 2 wild card entries. Top 3 racers in each category was awarded cash prizes (1st – Rs. 7500, 2nd – Rs. 5000, 3rd – Rs. 2500).
In 2012, Honda Motor Company, Japan initiated Asia Dream Cup Motorcycle Racing Championship where riders compete for top spot in a CBR250R. Through the Championship, every Honda Company within Asia sponsors riders participation. HMSI sponsored 3 riders (Sumit Locus Toppo, Prabhu Arunagiri and Sarath Kumar) to participate in the championship last year. Sumit Locus Toppo finished in the top 3 during the Pre-Season test practice at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.
