2014 Hyundai i10 diesel caught testing in Chennai
Hyundai’s new 2014 i10 will be offered with a diesel engine, thanks to the growing demand for diesel powered cars in India. The small car was recently caught on test on the streets of Chennai. The car is codenamed BA and is scheduled to launch in India later this year, once it premieres at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Sep 2013.
2014 Hyundai i10 will offer more space compared to the current i10 both. Interiors will feature better quality materials while legroom is expected to be the best in its segment.
The diesel engine which will power the i10 2014 model in India, is the 1.1 liter 3 cylinder turbo diesel engine, which is offered in the UK on i20. This engine is capable of producing 74 bhp and auto emissions of 85 g/km. In petrol guise, 2014 i10 will feature a 1.0 liter 3 cylinder petrol engine along with a 1.2 liter Kappa 2 engine.
New i10, besides being produced from the Hyundai plant in Chennai, will also be produced from company’s plant in Turkey. This is where, Hyundai will be catering to demand from European markets. Images here are credit to MotorVikatan.
