First introduced in late 2012, the 2014 Santa Fe is finally coming to India. Expected to undercut the much in demand Toyota Fortuner where pricing is concerned, the new Hyundai Santa Fe will be assembled at the company plant in Chennai. Hyundai Motor India Limited has already commenced CKD assembly at the Chennai plant with sales in India to be initiated by end February 2014.
2014 Hyundai Santa Fe will sit on a new platform due to which interiors will be more spacious as against that seen on the earlier model. The new model will also offer better driving dynamics and better performance as compared to its earlier counterpart, while the Santa Fe will measure 40mm more in length and 5mm more in width though roofline is lowered by 45mm.
Hyundai Santa Fe will be fitted with the same 2.2 liter diesel engine as seen on the current model though new Piezo injectors have been added for better efficiency and lower emissions. The motor is equipped with Variable Geometry Turbo offering peak power of 194 bhp and peak torque of 44.45 kgm while being mated to a six speed automatic transmission.
In a mail to Rush Lane, Hyundai stated, The launch of Santa Fe will take place at the 12th Auto Expo 2014, on 5th February 2014 at 8:40AM onwards at Hall No. 3, Stall E4, India Exposition Mart Ltd., Greater Noida.
