2014 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV 6/7 seater debuts at Delhi Auto Expo
Hyundai India will launch third generation version of Santa Fe at the Auto Expo 2014 to be held in Greater Noida in February. 2014 Santa Fe was first introduced in late 2012. It will sport a modified version of Hyundai Fluidic design language called Storm Edge design. This design will make its way into all SUVs from the Hyundai stables in the future.
New Santa Fe is developed on a new platform and will have enhanced proportions than the outgoing model. 2014 Santa Fe will be 40mm longer and 5mm wider while roof line is lowered by 45mm, though wheelbase remains the same at 2700mm, as compared to outgoing variant.
Currently, the Santa Fe is imported into India via the CBU route due to which it entails heavy import duties. Sales are currently at an average of about 30 units per month in India. The 2014 model could come in CKD format and assembled in India which will go a long way to make the Santa Fe more affordable. If estimates are to be believed, the 2014 Santa Fe should be priced on par with Fortuner and Pajero Sport in the INR 20-22 lakh category. (source)
