2014 Kia Forte global compact sedan revealed in Korea

It will be at the start of 2013 that the 2014 Kia Forte will begin its entry into North American dealer showrooms in coupe and hatchback versions. The same Kia car will be known as K3 in South Korea and Cerato in markets like Australia and Brazil. Kia Forte has greater dimensions and offers more comforts to its occupants as per the current model and possesses an extended wheelbase.

All future models will however be manufactured with new bodyshell structure. Three different names but common exterior and interior features, the vehicle will have latest in technology with parking assistance system, LED headlamps, telematics service UVO which is what will assist drivers to control the vehicle through use of a smartphone or other such IT devices. Kia’s K3 Engine specifications will include a 1.6 liter four cylinder gas engine offering 138 hp and 167 Nm torque with fuel economy at 14 km.

Kia’s new global sedan, K3 is 4,560 mm long, 1,780 mm wide, 1,435 mm and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. Kia aims to sell 410,000 K3 / Forte / Cerato in the first year, and from 2014, they aim to sell 500,000 units globally.
