In Q4 2013, new Nissan Terrano was launched. the Japanese automaker intends to keep pace with rapid market growth through dealership network expansion across India.
Nissan India announced its GT Academy qualifying rounds at Delhi Auto Expo in February 2014. Related activity’s were held across Delhi (NCR), Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai and 14 best lap times from these Live Events were shortlisted in mid-June.
The other 14 finalists were shortlisted through online qualifying. GT Academy national finals are being held today. 28 shortlisted finalists took on each other with 10 gamers eliminated in a further competition round. The next elimination round saw 6 less drivers after competing for 10 laps on Monaco Circuit. The 12 remaining finalists advance to tomorrow’s competition.
This was the first season for GT Academy in India, and a first opportunity for #gamertopro enthusiasts who were able to take advantage of Nissan’s unique platform that lets gamers get on a real racetrack to transform their gaming prowess to real on track competitive racing through adequate motorsport training. Indian finalists will have to take on other GT Academy finalists at Silverstone Race Camp to win the high stake and much coveted Nissan racing seats available.
