2014 Volkswagen Golf GTI revealed before 2013 Geneva

Volkswagen will be displaying their new 2014 Golf GTI Mk7 at 2013 Geneva Motor Show that opens its doors on March 5, 2013. But before that, the production variant has been revealed online.

2014 VW Golf GTI will include red accents on front grille, and headlamps, smoked LED tail lights, twin pipes, rear spoiler and side sills. The vehicle will sit on a set of 17” alloy wheels with 225/45 sized tyres. Built on the new VW MQB platform, the new Golf GTi is being introduced with a weight reduction of 42 kgs over outgoing model that weighed 1352 kgs.

Interiors are seen fitted with sports seats upholstered in tartan fabric while a flat bottom steering wheel, black headliner and red ambient lighting adds to the overall effect. Volkswagen’s new Golf GTI will be fitted with a 2.0 liter turbocharged, direct injection four cylinder engine that offers 217 hp where the base model is concerned and 227 hp for the top end GTI Performance model. The motor is mated to either a six speed manual gearbox or a six speed dual clutch automatic and is capable of steering the vehicle to a top speed of 250 kmph. Prices begin from €28,350 (INR 20 lakhs or $37,000) and the company has commenced accepting orders.
