Volvo Buses India invites 2014 Volvo Sustainable Mobility Awards registrations
Started in 2011, Volvo Sustainable Mobility Awards have seen winners in Mapunity, EMBARQ India, India Urban Space Foundation, ArriveSAFE, Mumbai Environmental Social Network, Praja, EcoCabs and Ride-A-Cycle Foundation, and others.
Volvo Buses in India has now announced registrations for Volvo Sustainable Mobility Awards 2014 until August 31, 2014 by inviting citizen groups/NGOs, organisations/consultancies, and institutions among others to participate with the aim to reward progressive and practical action in areas of promoting sustainable urban mobility solutions.
Volvo Sustainable Mobility Awards 2014 overall prize money has been increased to Rs 1.2 million, Rs 7 lakh for the winner, Rs 3 lakh for runner-up and, 2 lakh for 2nd runner up. Last date for submission of projects is September 20, 2014.
Volvo Sustainable Mobility Awards recognises efforts in sustainability and seeks to award practical action and engagement with society in this regard. Over the years, submissions and quality of projects have risen significantly. In 2013, 51 eligible projects were submitted. Projects have addressed bus transport, metro and commuter rail services, integration of multiple transportation modes, urban planning, road planning, promoting non-motorised transport, pedestrian rights to safety & convenience, environmental concerns, and taking new tech to people.
