New gen Audi Q7 made its official debut the 2015 Detroit Motor Show. By Dec 2015, the car had been launched in India, but only with a diesel engine option. Today, Audi India has launched the petrol engine variant of the same SUV. Price of petrol Q7 starts from INR 67.76 lakh, while that of the diesel Q7 starts from INR 70.18 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
The new generation Audi Q7 boasts of a new design language with a hexagonal single frame chrome grille on its front fascia while the rest of the external design remains quite the same as compared to its earlier counterpart.
The diesel Audi Q7 for India is powered by a 3.0 liter V6 TDI engine offering 268 PS and 598 Nm. Petrol Q7 is powered by a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine that delivers 275 PS power and 370 Nm torque. Both engines are mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels via Audi Quattro AWD technology. Top speed of petrol variant is 233 kmph, and it does 0-100 kmph in 6.9 seconds. The same of diesel Q7 is 234 kmph and 7.1 seconds, respectively
26% more fuel efficiency is promised on the new Audi Q7. Fuel efficiency of new petrol Q7 stands at 11.68 kmpl. This is much than the older gen Q7, thanks to 325 kg weight loss which has been made possible due to the new MLB platform.
Interiors of the new Audi Q7 will boast of a Virtual Cockpit instrument display and new design accents. A new touch controlled MMI system and Android Auto besides Apple CarPlay will also form a part of the Q7’s infotainment system while rear passengers will be provided with tablets with 3D audio.
New Audi Q7 petrol will rival the likes of Volvo XC90, BMW X5 and Mercedes Benz GL Class in India.
