2015 Audi TT continues making test runs in India
Following tests in Chennai in May, the new Audi TT now heads to Mumbai for tests as the same was spotted minus any camouflage. Shedding a good 90 kgs as compared to its earlier counterpart, the open topped model will now be offered in a diesel variant as well to cater to the demands of Indian buyers.
2015 Audi TT was unveiled earlier this year at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Actively being tested on Indian roads and in varying temperatures conditions, the TT Roadster is seen sporting a wind blocker behind its seats and similar interiors to its Coupe counterpart.
Measuring a total of 13.7 feet in length and sitting on a wheelbase of 8.2 feet, the dimensions of the soon to be launched Audi TT will be similar to those on its present model though wheelbase will be slightly longer. Based on the Volkswagen flexible MQB platform also seen on 2015 Audi A3 and 2015 VW Golf, the TT will be presented in a base and TTS trim level with a 2.0 liter TFSI engine.
This engine on board the base model will belt out 230 hp peak power and 272 lb/ft peak torque while on the TTS trim it will offer 310 hp and 280 lb/ft torque. For Europe, aix speed manual is standard while 6 speed S Tronic dual clutch gearbox is being offered as an option. India will get the automatic gearbox as standard.
Cabin design has been kept to the minimum with a 12.3” display situated behind the steering wheel through which driver and passengers can get feedback on climate settings though a digital display.
