2015 Audi TT Coupe was launched in United Kingdom recently at starting price of £29,860 (Rs. 29.41 lakhs approx.). Sport and S line are two variants new Audi TT is offered in. Price of top end Audi TT S line starts at £35,335 (Rs. 34.78 lakhs approx.)
Third generation Audi TT comes with new fully digital virtual cockpit technology, sporting 12.3 inch high resolution LCD display that shows speedo, tacho and other instruments, along with music and other infotainment information. Technology package upgrade adds hard drive-based navigation facility and internet connectivity, to access Google Maps, Audi traffic information, to find nearest fuel stations and to check flight and train information.
Other features in new Audi TT Coupe include Xenon headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), active rear spoiler, Audi’s adaptive dynamics system, sports suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless start, touch-sensitive multimedia interface 3 spoke leather wrapped multi function sports steering wheel and leather & Alcantara upholstery.
Audi TT S line gets all-weather LED head- and tail-lights, exclusive S line body styling, 19-inch alloy wheels and free option to specify S line sports suspension which reduces height to 1,343 mm (difference of 10 mm).
Compared to second generation, i.e., outgoing Audi TT in India, 2015 TT Coupe has longer wheelbase by 37 mm (2,505 mm) although overall body size remains same. Boot volume is increased by 13 litres, to 305 litres.
2015 Audi TT comes with 2.0 litre TFSI petrol and TDI ultra diesel engines, mated to six-speed manual transmission or six speed S tronic automatic. While petrol version gets Front Wheel Drive and All Wheel Drive layouts, diesel is limited to FWD. Audi TT petrol pushes 230 PS max. power and 370 Nm peak torque, and diesel generates 184 PS power and 380 Nm. Former does 0 – 100 kmph sprint in 6 seconds, quattro 4WD variant takes only 5.3 seconds. Top speed is 249 kmph.
Test mule spied in near Pune is 2015 Audi TTS Coupe, which is expected to launch by end of 2014 in UK, with same 2.0 litre TFSI engine blasting 310 hp. India launch of new Audi TT & TTS sports Coupe is expected next year.
