Talking about the new M4 convertible, just like its coupe variant, this one too is powered by a twin turbocharged 3.0 liter straight six engine offering peak power of 425hp from 5,500rpm to 7,300rpm and peak torque of 406lb/ft between 1,850rpm and 5,500rpm. Its three-piece retractable hardtop will be seen with a sound absorbing headliner due to which the company claims significant noise reduction. This top folds up in 20 seconds at speeds up to 18 kmph. The trunk possesses 13 cubic feet of cargo space with the top up while this is reduced to 7.8 with lowered. It weighs 1,750kgs, 60 kgs less than the coupe.
Features on board the M4 convertible will include adjustable stability, traction control, adjustable electronic power steering and adjustable suspension. Performance will be enhanced due to the use of light weight material which includes aluminium and carbon fibre reinforced plastic. Being shown later this month at the New York Auto Show, BMW will put the M4 convertible on sale later this summer.
