2015 Chevrolet Beat spied on test in Korea, global launch on cards
Gearing up for its international launch early next year, the Beat hatchback – called Spark internationally, is being actively tested and was recently spotted testing in Korea. The 2015 Beat, though under heavy camouflage, was noted to be considerably larger than its current generation variant, eager to rectify its cramped rear seat area and appeal to an extensive segment of buyers.
2015 Chevrolet Beat will sit on a new platform that it shares with the four door Opel hatchback. Its underpinnings have grown in dimension resulting in added interior space while the new Beat also sports a more mature design as compared to its earlier funkier appeal.
The next generation Beat will be seen with larger rear doors and airier interiors. It will be fitted with a 1 liter three cylinder turbo petrol engine from the company’s new EcoTEC range of engines. However, this engine is for international markets and it remains to be seen if GM India will bring in the Beat with the same engine options or whether it will receive a 1.2 liter 4 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which powers the current version. A diesel engine in the form of a 1.3 liter Small Diesel Engine, jointly developed by GM and Fiat may also make its way into the 2015 Beat.
Launch of 2015 Beat in India is still some time away considering the company has just launched the facelifted model this year.
