2016 Ford EcoSport S announced at Geneva Motor Show with new features

2016 Ford EcoSport S not only receives substantial styling changes, but improved drive dynamics and equipment upgrades as well. As expected and witnessed in spy shots, Ford EcoSport loses the tailgate mounted spare wheel and poses as more of a city car despite being subjected to better handling packages, ironically.

Ford EcoSport facelift will launch globally in June, 2015.

Almost all vital mechanicals are optimised, including chassis, suspension and rear axle, to make the EcoSport more fun and agile to drive. It has also lost 10 mm of ride height / ground clearance.

But what’s presented at 2015 Geneva Motor Show, is new Ford EcoSport S variant in Deep Impact Blue colour, to be added to the model lineup but only from end of the year. The blue colour of S variant is complimented by black roof devoid of roof rails, special mirror caps, sporty 17-inch alloy wheels in gloss black, sporty rear diffuser element and new privacy glass facility.

Full features list of 2015 Ford EcoSport S includes partial leather seats offered as standard for Titanium variants; charcoal black finished lower instrument panel, centre console and door boards; 4-inch colour display for infotainment system, backlight dimming option for instruments, chrome-surround rings on them, chrome tabs for power window switches, relocated handbrake lever for better access, optional privacy glass and optional Spare wheel (with tyre mobility kit in place of the wheel as standard), considering the interiors.

On mechanical front, new Ford EcoSport can be characterised by enhancements to springs, spring aids, dampers, rear axle twist beam and steering gear for better dynamics, improvised Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) settings & steering assist profiles for better handling & control, better NVH levels, optimised lower gear ratios in both EcoBoost and TDCi diesel models for better low-end torque, upgraded powertrain packages to comply with EU6.1 emission standard and added power (5 PS) to TDCi diesel engine.

Further, new Winter Pack will be offered for Ford EcoSport sold in cold climate conditions, which includes heated windscreen, heated mirrors, heated seats and rear seat ducting at floor level.
