2015 Mercedes CLS sees new Multibeam LED headlamps
2015 Mercedes Benz CLS Facelift receives Multibeam LED headlamps. These LED headlamps possess adaptive light functions, being offered for the first time on a production model drawing more attention to the new 2015 CLS Coupe.
Recently 2015 Mercedes Benz CLS Facelift has been spotted on test and was seen with a reshaped front grille and a new bumper design also seen on board the CLA AMG. Interiors were viewed with new knobs and buttons on its centre console, redesigned steering wheel and state of the art infotainment system. Engine specifications on board the new CLS Facelift is rumoured to include a 9 speed 9G TRONIC transmission with twin turbo 3.0 liter V6 gasoline unit delivering 320 hp power and 480 Nm torque.
However it is the Multibeam LED headlamps that draw most attention. These LED high beam headlamps have four fast responding and high resolution precision LED light modules and 24 exclusive LED chips each of which can be electronically and independently controlled.
These control units work along with a camera behind the windscreen that allows calculation of precise light pattern 100 times per second so as to activate all 24 LED lights separately. With the existence of Multibeam LED headlights, the range can be increased by 20% to about 485 meters or 0.3 miles. Besides high beam module, low beam headlamp with four LEDs are also seen, each rotating at 12 degrees to offer anticipatory camera based active light function.
Multibeam Technology on headlamps demonstrate quicker reaction time and adaptation to traffic conditions which has been brought to the fore by Mercedes Benz, once again showcasing their leadership position in the automotive industry.
