2016 Mercedes E Class with additional equipment launched in India

2016 Mercedes E Class comes with an updated COMAND system with 5.1-inch infotainment screen and Audio 20 CD player which is compatible with CD, twin-radio, USB, Aux-in, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity. The range topping E 350 CDI gets Garmin MAP PILOT with GPS receiver as standard while it’s offered as an option in E 200 CGI and E 250 CDI variants.

All variants now come with standard reverse parking camera. Rest of the equipment level stays untouched. The entire range is packed with adequate active and passive safety features in addition to numerous comfort and convenience features.

The updated versions of E 200 CGI and E 250 CDI retail at INR 46.53 lakhs and INR 48.69 lakhs respectively (both prices are ex-showroom Mumbai).

Facelifted E Class was launched in India in 2013.

The BMW 5 Series rival offers one petrol and two diesel engines in India. The base E 200 CGI variant is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder direct injection turbocharged petrol motor which puts out 184 PS and 300 Nm of torque. The E 250 CDI is propelled by a 2.2-litre turbo diesel which pumps out 204 PS and 500 Nm of torque. The top-end E 350 CDI sports a 3.0-litre V6 diesel which is good for 265 PS and 620 Nm of torque. A 7-G TRONIC PLUS 7-speed automatic transmission and Start/stop system are standard across the range.
