2015 Mercedes S Class Coupe launches in India where it is being presented in two guises – S500 and S63 AMG. Outstanding in looks and efficient in performance, both cars are strikingly different from each other. Mercedes Benz S Class Coupe variants were showcased earlier at 2014 Geneva Motor Show and will be brought into the country via the CBU route.
2015 Mercedes S500 is priced at INR 2 crores (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It is powered by a 4.7 liter, twin turbo, V8 engine capable of 453 bhp power and 700 Nm torque. The S63 AMG is priced at INR 2.6 crores (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It receives a 5.5 liter, twin turbo, V8 engine offering 577 bhp peak power and 900 Nm peak torque mated to a 7 speed AMG Speedshift transmission. The AMG variant with rear wheel drive is capable of acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.2 seconds while with all wheel drive variant, acceleration from 0-100 kmph is achieved in 3.9 seconds with top speed of 250 kmph.
Visual differences between 2015 Mercedes S500 and S63 AMG lie in its external make up. The S63 has an aggressive body kit with carbon fiber inserts and an iconic AMG badge which sets it apart from the S500. The S63 also receives larger multi spoke alloy wheels and quad exhaust unit. 2015 Mercedes S500 sports a rear end with a more sloping profile, black alloy wheels, red brake calipers and extensive use of carbon fiber throughout its exterior.

These launches are a part of the company’s ’15 in 15’ policy.
