2015 Tata Safari Storme facelift spied with honeycomb grille

2015 Tata Safari Storme facelift heads for launch in India later this year. Spied recently, the SUV was noted to receive minor tweaks for 2015 model year. On its exterior the most evident changes were in the form of large honeycomb grille and new alloys.

Competing with Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra XUV500, Scorio, etc; 2015 Tata Safari Storme facelift has been long overdue. Probably because the automaker had their full attention towards the launch of mass segment cars like Zest and Bolt. Now, that the two have been launched, Safari Facelift seems to be back in focus. Changes on board the new Safari will include some design elements borrowed from the Zest and Bolt, which have been designed by Tata’s design houses across the globe. This includes a new all black dashboard, new steering wheel and central console.

No engine updates are confirmed for the 2015 Tata Safari Storme facelift which will continue to be powered by a 2.2 liter Varicor turbocharged diesel engine which could see a boost in power. This engine as seen on the current Safari Storme offers 140 PS peak power at 4,000 rpm and 320 Nm torque at 1,700 rpm sending power to rear wheels or all four wheels (depending on the variant) via a 5 speed manual gearbox. Facelift Storme’s engine will be tuned to deliver 150 PS and 320 Nm torque.

Slated for launch by mid 2015, new Tata Safari Storme is also pegged to receive a new single DIN audio system, larger touchscreen and infotainment system with integrated display for reverse camera. The automaker could also rearrange seating at the rear with a bench type forward facing seating and middle row to receive captain chairs. However, these will only be offered on the top end variants. Expect price of Tata Safari Storme facelift to start from Rs 10 lakhs.
