Audi has offered a closer look at its 2016 A4 S Line sedan thorough its official video. The sharply styled sedan, along with rest of the variants, will go on sale in Europe later this year.
2016 Audi A4 S Line gets optional Matrix LED headlights and chrome accents on side air intakes.
New A4 is based on the MQB modular platform which has resulted in massive weight saving of up to 120 kg. The lighter weight and revised powertrain lineup deliver 21% better efficiency, and lower emissions. For India, the sedan is expected to continue with the same powertrain lineup as the existing car but the old school CVT will be done away with.
The new saloon and its Avant (station wagon) sibling will go on sale in Europe later this year.
The 3-D chrome finished SingleFrame grille, S-line badge on the fender, optional LED Matrix headlights, chrome accented side air intakes, 5 twin-spoke alloy wheels are the exterior design highlights. The interior is equipped with S Line leather seats, branded illuminated door sills, fully configurable 12.3-inch Audi Connect instrument console, and Bang & Olufsen music system.
2016 A4 S Line is powered by a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox (6-speed manual variant is also available). The motor is available in two states of tune – 190 PS/320 Nm and 252 PS and 370 Nm of torque. Both are available with quattro all-wheel drive system.
Sporty interior gets 12.3-inch configurable instrument console and S Line branded seats and door sills.
Audi India is expected to launch 2016 A4 sometime next year and we expect the sporty S Line variant to be made available here. Like the outgoing car, new A4 would be locally assembled at the company’s CKD facility in Aurangabad.
