2016 Hyundai Creta SUV official images and engine details revealed

2016 Hyundai Creta SUV is gearing up to be launched in time time for this year’s festive season. Official images reveal what we already know via the spyshots.

The compact SUV will be available in 4 variants.

Creta is essentially a mildly tweaked version of China-spec ix25 for Indian and international markets. Save for the chrome finished three-slat front grille in the Indian version, exterior visual differences between the two variants are hardly noticeable.

The Hyundai compact SUV‘s upmarket feel comes from projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, quadrilateral fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels (top-end variant) and silver skid plates. The profile is characterized by a tight fitting flat roof, and raising waistline. The rear fascia with horizontal wraparound taillights has a slight resemblance with Elite i20.

Creta is the only crossover in its segment to offer a diesel automatic variant.

Hyundai India is yet to reveal the interior but previous spyshots revealed that design and layout is derived from ix25 albeit gets new color themes.

Verna-derived powertrain lineup comprises of a 123 PS 1.6-litre petrol engine, 128 PS 1.6-litre diesel engine and 90 PS 1.4-litre diesel engine. The 1.6-litre diesel motor is offered with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, making Creta the only diesel automatic SUV in its segment.

Fully loaded variant offers six airbags, 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, 7-inch AVN with 6-speakers and 1 GB internal memory, smart key with push button start/stop, leather seats, static bending lights, electric folding ORVM, rear AC vents, reverse parking camera, ABS, ESC, VSM and HAC.
