2016 Subaru Forester detailed before Tokyo Motor Show debut

Subaru has introduced a new exterior design, added safety, efficient driving dynamics and utility on board the 2016 Subaru Forester for the Japanese market. The car receives new front fascia replete with widened headlights and grille, and revised tail lamp. It also gets new 17” and 18” alloy wheels.

The new Forester is also said to be more aerodynamic as compared to its predecessor. On board equipment includes Siri Eyes Free voice recognition for iPhone users along with heated rear seats and memory settings for driver’s seat.

To be offered in base and XT variant, the automaker has paid special attention to safety on 2016 Subaru Forester which packs in EyeSight camera based safety technology with lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and emergency braking assistance.

The SUV gets an array of new safety assistance systems.

Both variants get thicker side glass and enhanced body sealing while CVT transmission is tweaked to further reduce NVH. Its LED high and low beam headlights pivot in response to steering inputs thus allowing around the corner vision. At intersections the adaptive beam technology allows for reduced glare for on-coming drivers.

Being offered in Dark Blue Pearl and Sepia Bronze Metallic exterior body paints, interiors of 2016 Forester also see high quality finish with a silver framed decorative panel and piano black tints. Seats are covered in leather as are instrument panel, center tray and door grips, thus giving the new Forester a premium and sporty look.

Heading to 2015 Tokyo Motor Show and to be presented on October 29 , mechanicals of the SUV has also been tweaked for better performance and improved fuel efficiency. While the 2016 Subaru Forester is an exclusive Japan model, buyers in the US will be able to see these upgrades on the 2017 Subaru Forester.
