Slated for launch next year, the fifth generation Hyundai Verna in a pre production prototype was spied in South Korea, wherein various exterior and interior details were evident. These include a new head and tail lamp assembly, chrome slats on front grille, a wider and flatter bonnet design, a honeycomb mesh on air dam, new ORVMs with LED turn indicators and new alloy wheel design.

2017 Hyundai Verna will also be seen with a sunroof, taller rear end and tail gate section and roof mounted antenna and will receive a new exterior paint in metallic gold. Cabin updates will include better finishes as seen on its current counterpart with a more upright dashboard design, a touchscreen infotainment system and added leg room at the rear.

Engine specifications as seen on the current Verna are slated to continue on board the 2017 model which will be tweaked for better performance and fuel efficiency. To launch in India by the end of 2017 at a price range of INR 7-12 lakhs, the 2017 Hyundai Verna will have 90% localization so as to ensure competitive pricing. Competition in the country will come from the Honda City, VW Vento, Nissan Sunny, Maruti Ciaz, and Skoda Rapid.
