3rd Gen Ssangyong Rexton W for South Africa while India readies for launch of high end Mahindra Rexton on October 17th

Mahindra and Mahindra in partnership with SsangYong Motors will be launching a high end sports utility vehicle Rexton in India on October 17th 2012. This will be the first vehicle to be launched ever since Mahindra took over the Korean auto company in March 2011. T Rexton SUV will be launched in Mumbai while similar launches will follow in New Delhi, and Bangalore, while it will follow to other markets immediately.

This third generation Rexton W for South Africa possesses not only superb off road performance and enhanced handling capabilities but is also seen with a host of interior and exterior styling which adds to its persona. The vehicle will be dubbed RextonW which stands for World Class and Work of Art and it will also hit South African markets are a very competitive price tag. The standard Rexton five seater model will be priced at R349,955 while the Deluxe seven seater model can be had for R389,995. Both these models will be powered by a 2.7 liter turbocharged engine with 121 kW at 4000 rpm and 340 Nm torque at 1800 rpm which will have a 2700 kg towing capacity.

The five seater engine will get a manual gearbox while seven seater will be fitted with a five speed auto.Interiors are seen with a multifunction steering wheel, 2 DIN MP3/CD audio system with six speakers and Bluetooth facility. Climate control, rear parking assist and automatic headlights are also offered with the new Rexton while the Deluxe package will get even more comfortable leather upholstered seats.
