Amara Raja Batteries in Q1FY14 net sales increase 29%, supplies to Honda
Amara Raja Batteries Limited, one of India’s leading conglomerates that offers a wide range of products which includes automotive batteries have announced their results for the first quarter of 2014.
Profit after tax also increased 29% to INR 978 million from INR 761 million in Q1 2013, while profit before tax stood at INR 1,405 million as against INR 1,123 million in Q1 2013. Strong growth in the four wheeler battery segment was noteworthy specially since it is backed by superior after sales service which is the reason why both Amaron and PowerZone have been in increased demand. Two wheeler batteries such as Amaron ProBikeRider has also seen increased demand.
Honda Motors India Limited is a major customer for two wheeler batteries. Amara Batteries is looking to increase their product line in the future so as to meet demand and also to increase their market share.
