Ashok Leyland 21% sales decline for February 2014

Ashok Leyland’s overall sales decline for February 2014 stands at 21%. This is the result of 7,915 heavy vehicles sold as compared to 10,046 units sold in the corresponding month last year. Within this M&HCV sales accounted for 5,576 units when compared to 7,045 units sold in Feb’13 equating to 21% sales decline.

LCV sales account for 2,339 units as compared to 3,001 units sold in Feb’13 equating to 22% sales decline. For the financial year thus far, sales stand at 79,056 units for April-February 2014 as compared to 100,592 units sold in the corresponding period in last FY. This equates to 21% sales decline. M&HCV sales during April-February 2014 stand at 52,624 units.

This is 25% lower when compared to 70,000 units sold for the same period in the previous FY. For the 11 months, April-February 2014, 26,432 LCV units were sold. When compared to 30,592 units sold for the same months during the last fiscal, volume equates to 14% sales decline.
