Ashok Leyland Sep 2013 sales fall 32%: Stile MPV launch on 8th Oct
Sales of Ashok Leyland, a Hinduja Group company, during the month of September, has fallen 31.9%. During the past month, the company sold a total of 7,232 units as against 10,620 units sold in the same month in the previous year. Apart from this, Ashok Leyland has also revealed that they will launch their new MPV, Stile in India on 8th Oct.
Where commercial vehicle sales were concerned, Ashok Leyland sales totaled 4,715 units in September 2013 as compared to 7,593 units in September 2012, a drop of 38%. Sales of DOST also saw a steep decline from 3,027 units in September 2012 to 2,517 units in September 2013.
The company gets set for launch of new Multi Purpose Vehicle, Stile which is making its way into markets on October 8, 2013. The soon to be launched Stile is a re-badged Nissan Evalia MPV. Changes include, sliding second row windows, rear wiper and washer while special captain seats are also to make its way into the Stile.
Where engine details are concerned, Stile will receive a K9K engine from Renault offering 75 bhp and 185 Nm torque. It will be produced from the Oragadam plant from where Evalia is manufactured and will be ideally suited for use by hotels, courier service providers and ambulance operators.
