Hi,all along we have been hearing about poor ground clearence of Honda City on Indian roads. This was confided to me by several owners. Then why are they not doing some thing about it / it seems that even when they are coming out with a new variant in 2012,there is no mention of any GC improvement. The only reason I hesitate to buy this car is its GC.Is it technically so difficult or does it take so much cost to achieve ? kindly educate me !

The Honda City has 165mm ground clearance which is among the lowest in its class. I am not aware of any changes planned by the company but is not advisable to try to raise the ground clearance by a customer. Technically, it is possible to raise it by changing the springs and/or installing stiffer dampers. However, this will severely change the handling of the car which may create a safety issue when driving at high-speed or cornering... Also, we don't have qualified specialists who can reliably work on a car's suspension.
