Your monthly drive is mere 300 kms so I won't suggest a diesel car for you because diesel might be cheaper than petrol but you can't forget the price difference in the petrol and diesel cars and maintenance of a diesel engine.
If its about a petrol engine, my pick is Honda Jazz because of better mileage and less "reported" issues than i20.
