Audi A3 luxury compact sedan carries on the same design language as seen on elder siblings like the A4, A6 and A8. Stylish to look, A3 sedan for India features Bi-xenon headlamps, low slung stance, and large air inlets in the front giving the new Audi A3 a sportier appeal thus appealing to a younger, urban set of buyers.
Interiors of the new Audi A3 will be seen with a state of the art dashboard. It will be more spacious while infotainment and safety features would include ABS, a panoramic sunroof, a total of 6 airbags and 7” MMI screen. Seats will be electronically adjusted while its four spoke steering wheel can be tilted or pulled in and out.
Audi A3 will be powered by both petrol and diesel engine options. Petrol engine will be a 1.8 liter TFSI mated to a 7 speed S-Tronic transmission offering 180 PS peak power and 250 Nm torque. A 2.0 TDI diesel engine mated to a 6 speed dual clutch system will also be on offer, capable of 143 PS peak power with 320 Nm torque.
Audi A3 sedan will be the first Audi model to be offered as a CKD right from the launch. All other Audi models such as A4,A6, Q3, Q5, and Q7 were all brought in initially as CBUs before local production commenced.
As of now, Audi A3 does not have a rival in its segment, but with this aggressive pricing at which it is launched, it will surely add to the worries of rivals. Entry level cars from Mercedes Benz India includes A Class and B Class, while BMW India offers 1 Series. All priced in the 22-23 lakh range for starting variants. Considering that the A3 is the only sedan, Audi India will surely have huge number of A3 buyers.
