Audi A3 sedan continues Mumbai testing
Audi A3 Sedan, showcased at Shanghai Auto Show in April this year and expected to debut at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo in Noida, India in early 2014, was once again caught testing on the streets of Mumbai minus any sort of camouflage.
Enthusiasts would know that this is not the first time the car has been spotted. The same colored A3 sedan has been spied in Mumbai on many occasions. Looking to capture the attention of a new generation of buyers, this entry level sedan will be added to Audi premium range next year.
Seen on test with halogen headlamps, the upcoming Audi A3 might receive a 1.8 liter TFSI petrol engine offering 170 hp power while a 2.0 liter TFSI will also be available along with a 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine with 150 hp peak power.
Audi A3 could very well be the least priced model in the German luxury automakers lineup in India. It is scheduled to come in at a price range of between INR 22-25 lakh and compete against the Mercedes Benz CLA sedan, also to be launched in early 2014, the A Class and BMW 1 Series hatchback. It is yet to be determined whether Audi India will go in for local assembly of the A3 Sedan or whether they will be bringing it into India via the CBU route. (images via)
