Audi A3 sedan revealed in South Africa: Spied in India
Audi South Africa revealed the all new A3 sedan at the 2013 Johannesburg International Motor Show. The car will be on display for the entire duration of the show, from 16-27th October 2013. Meanwhile, the A3 sedan was also spied in India, where it continues it’s test run.
India too is expected to get the A3 sedan soon. Once launched, it will become the most affordable sedan on the company’s portfolio in the country. Expected to come in at a base price of INR 25 lakhs, the A3 will compete with the new Mercedes Benz CLA and will enable the company to consolidate their position as leading luxury automakers in the country.
The new A3 sedan will receive a 2.0 liter TDI engine with peak power of 150 PS and peak torque of 320 Nm while it will be highly fuel efficient offering 25 kmpl. A petrol engine in the form of a 1.4 liter TFSI is also on offer which will give 140 PS peak power and 250 Nm torque while fuel efficiency stands at 20 kmpl.
A powerful 1.8 liter TFSI producing 180 bhp and 250 Nm torque with fuel efficiency at 18 kmpl is also being offered with the Audi A3. All engines will be mated to either a 6 speed manual or a 7 speed S-tronic gearbox. Slated to make its presence felt at the 2014 Delhi Auto Show in February, the A3 will reach company showrooms soon after. (Spy shot: OverDrive)
