Audi India used car sales target for 2015 is at 1,000 units

For the second year in a row, Audi India has successfully managed to maintain their lead over rivals Mercedes Benz and BMW. With sales of 10,851 units, Audi registered a growth of 8.5% over 2013. As for rivals, Mercedes Benz India registered sales of 10,201 and growth rate of 13%, while BMW sold 6,812 cars, registering sales decline of 7%.

2014 was also their Audi’s seventh successive year in India to register growth. And they would want to continue the momentum into the 8th year as well. As per Joe King, Head, Audi India, the company now aims to register a double digit growth in 2015. Elaborating on the same, as the luxury car segment in India grew by 3% in 2014, Audi grew by almost 9%. For 2015, estimates state luxury car segment to grow by 7%, this makes Audi India confident of posting a double digit growth rate for 2015.

Apart from registering growth in new car sales, Audi India is also confident of increasing their used car sales. In 2014, Audi pre-owned car saw sales of 550 units, for 2015, Mr Kind aims at selling about 1,000 units.

Talking about new investments, increasing production and launch of new cars, Mr King said that they are almost ready to make new investments, but are awaiting final green signal from top management. Audi India totally agrees with PM Narendra Modi’s Make in India initiative, and new investments will help the German brand to in crease local content.

Audi pre-owned car outlet in Kolkata

As for launch of new cars is concerned, Audi India plans to launch about 10 new cars in the country this year. Of which, they have already launched the Audi R8 LMX, the fastest and most powerful road-going Audi till date.

They will also open new dealerships and widen their reach. As of now, Audi India has presence at 61 customer touchpoints across India via 40 authorized dealers. Their aim for the first 6 months of 2015 is to increase this number by at least 15%. In the past 15 days, Audi India has opened two new showrooms, one each in Bengaluru and Ranchi. They has also opened a pre-owned luxury car showroom in Kolkata.
