In an endeavor to introduce innovative technologies that help in improvement of fuel economy, reduction of vehicle emissions and enhance the quality of the atmosphere, Audi has been advocating clean, quiet and safer diesel propulsion in the US markets. As on date over 50% of all Audi A3s and one third of Audi Q7s sold across the US are clean diesel Turbo Direct Injection models.

This advent into clean and green arenas is not something new for Audi. In fact Audi backed this clean diesel technology at a time before any other car manufacturer. Allen Schaeffer, Executive Director of Diesel technology Forum, Washington D.C. talks about an incident at the Sebring raceway in Florida where Audi technology showcased the future of clean diesel. This was noticed by Head of California Air Resources Board who were touring the pits had noticed the advanced filter at the Audi pit which through the passage of time had come to be the most advanced clean diesel technology.

With Audi’s continued perseverance in clean diesel it has gained them a number of awards. In 2010, Audi won the 2010 Green Car of the Year with their Audi A3 TDI. A number of diesel touting advertisements, the Green Police advertisement at the Super Bowl 2012 and their continued efforts to promote clean diesel concept shows the Audi determination promote cleaner and greener vehicles in the future.
