After yesterday’s launch in Delhi, new Honda Mobilio was launched in Mumbai earlier today for a starting price of Rs 6,49,500. A runaway success, Honda Mobilio bookings have already crossed 6,500 units.
As the launch dates for two new models from Tata Motors draws closer, the company is keen to leave no stone unturned to make a comeback in the passenger car markets. Launch of the Zest sedan is pegged for early August, while the Bolt will soon follow.
Gujarat Finance Minister Saurabh Patel said that the state government had given soft loan of INR 419 crores to Tata Motors exclusively for the manufacture of Nano cars at the Sanand plant. However with Nano failing to attract required amount of attention, Tata Motors now seeks to produce other models from the Sanand plant and has sought extension of sops and incentives to new cars as well.
Mahindra Two Wheelers has four new launches planned for the months ahead. Out of these four products, one will be an all-new 110cc automatic scooter, which will be launched next month with a price tag of less than Rs 50,000.
Many Indian car makers are expanding their base to South American continent. Mahindra have a car assembly plant in Manaus ,Brazil, Hero MotoCorp recently started work on a two-wheeler plant in Colombia and Maruti Suzuki is expanding major exports to South America. Now, another Indian auto major, Tata Motors is also jumping onto the global expansion band-wagon with a new full fledged car assembly plant in Venezuela.
National Electric Mobility Mission Plan 2020 (NEMMP) was unveiled by India’s former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh in 2009. Under this movement, electric car makers will be entitled for benefits to the tune of Rs 14,000 crores.
India bound 2014 Honda Jazz was launched in Malaysia recently. Available in a price range of RM 72,800 to RM 87,800 (Rs 13.71 lakhs to Rs 16.54 lakhs), Honda Malaysia have now revealed new TVC showcasing the features and convenience on offer with new Jazz.
There is no doubt that Audi and Mercedes Benz are competing for top spot in India. While sales figures of Q1 2014 placed Audi on top, industry is still awaiting Q2 sales figures as neither of them have revealed numbers yet.
