Bajaj Auto registers 6% decline in sales for February 2014
One of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in India, Bajaj Auto has registered a decline of 6% in domestic sales for February 2014. A total of 273,323 motorcycles were sold last month, as compared to 291,297 sold in the same month last year.
Speaking about commercial vehicle sales, they too registered a decline. From 41,090 sold in Feb 2013, Bajaj Auto sold 29,971 units in Feb 2014, registering a drop of 3%. Taking total sales for the month of Feb 2014, Bajaj Auto sold 313,294 units, as against 332,287 units in the same month last year. This includes exports.
As far as exports are concerned, Bajaj Auto managed to increase their exports by 5%. In the month of Feb 2014, Bajaj exported 142,009 units, as compared to 135,149 units in same month last year. The export figures for Feb 2014, are also their highest ever for any February.
Year to date (FY April 2013 – Feb 2014) sales of Bajaj Auto stand at 35,65,760. This is a decline of 9% as compared to the same period last year. In this, motorcycle sales declined by 10%, CV sales declined by 7%, while exports increased by 1%.
Two wheeler range sold by Bajaj Auto includes – Pulsar 200 NS, Pulsar 220, Pulsar 180, Pulsar 150, Pulsar 135 LS, Discover 100, Discover 100 M, Discover 100 T, Discover 125, Discover 125 T, Discover 125 ST, Platina 100, Ninja 650R, Ninja 300, KTM Duke 200, KTM Duke 390 and Avenger 220 DTS-i.
