Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS will be launched first, and not 400 SS
Bajaj Auto stole the limelight at the recently concluded 2014 Auto Expo, with their two blockbuster entries – Pulsar 400 CS and Pulsar 400 SS. Shown in concept form, these two bikes are powered by the same 373 cc engine which powers the naked monster, Duke 390. As far as launch is concerned, the 400 will be launched later, first will come the Pulsar 200 SS.
Bajaj Auto will launch a new Pulsar this fiscal, which is probably going to be the new Pulsar 200 SS, and not the 400 SS and 400 CS, which were displayed at the Auto Expo. This was confirmed by a Bajaj official at the Auto Expo, reveals MotorBeam. This decision to launch the SS200 first, follows the Bajaj Auto bottom up policy with lower capacity offerings coming out ahead and followed by the top end models.
Pulsar SS200 from Bajaj Auto will strongly resemble SS400 in many respects. It is the first full faired bike from Bajaj Auto and will be seen with floating LED tail lights, projector headlights, clip on handle bars and steel braided brake lines. SS200 will be powered by a 199.5cc single cylinder, triple spark, 4 valve engine entailing the use of fuel injection as against a carburetor. This engine will be capable of 24 bhp power. Pricing of Bajaj Pulsar SS200 might start at around INR 1.20 lakhs for non-ABS variant while launch is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
