Bajaj Pulsar and KTM sales cross 1.55 lakh and 35,000 in FY14
Bajaj Auto, the country‚Äôs second largest motorcycle maker, is also the largest manufacturer in the Performance Sement. Their Pulsar and KTM brand motorcycle sales are on the rise. Bajaj Pulsar sales have crossed the 1.55 lakh mark while KTM sales have touched 35,000 in FY14.
Bajaj Auto sales in the Performance segment during FY 14 reached the 649,000 unit mark in the country while another 245,000 units were exported. In the Pulsar segment, Pulsar 200 NS and Pulsar 220 saw total sales increase with 74,000 units sold in India and 81,000 units exported.
Likewise, the same success story was seen in company‚Äôs KTM Duke 125, Duke 200 and Duke 390, where sales touched 35,000. Though only Duke 200 and Duke 390 are sold in India, FY14 saw a total of 11,000 units of KTM sold in the country and 24,000 exported. A major attraction to younger and adventurous set of buyers in the country, KTM Duke is sold through company‚Äôs exclusive KTM showrooms located in major towns and cities.
Bajaj Avenger has also been well accepted by urban buyers in India. During FY 14, the company sold 41,000 Avenger bikes. Where bikes in the Discovery range is concerned, 985,000 units have been sold and 191,000 units have been exported. Platina, the entry level Commuter saw 460,000 units sold and 43,000 exported while Boxer, the No.1 brand in Africa and CT100 also saw significant local sales and exports.
