Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 India variant spied undisguised inside Pune plant

Its a little over 48 hours since Bajaj revealed the first teaser video of upcoming Pulsar. With over 2 lakh views registered already on their official YouTube channel, its anybody’s guess how excited the biking community is with the approaching launch of new Bajaj Pulsar RS 200.

Shown officially at least in three countries – Turkey, Indonesia, and Colombia; Bajaj has finally decided its time for the grand unveil of Pulsar 200 RS in home market. But before they could officially unveil, thanks to the power of internet, the first photos of Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 India variant are now leaked. The photos you see in this post, were clicked inside Bajaj Auto’s plant in Chakan. It is here that the motorcycle will be manufactured. Before launch, Bajaj Auto hopes to keep an inventory of 25,000 – 30,000 units ready; to meet the high demand.

To be launched on 26th March 2015, about 5 days from now, bookings have already begun at dealerships across India for a sum of Rs 5,000. This is an advance, if you don’t like the final price or product, you are free to cancel booking and take your Rs 5,000 back. Though we do not expect many to follow this road.

Speaking about the bike, it is powered by a 199.5cc single cylinder engine, same as the one seen on NS 200. But, tuned to deliver 0.90 PS and 0.3 Nm more- taking output to 24.4 PS at 9500 rpm and 18.6 Nm at 8000 rpm. Size of discs, tyres, and alloys remains unchanged.

The fastest and most powerful Pulsar, will also be the safest, due to the addition of Bosch single channel ABS on all variants. Price of new Pulsar is expected to start in the Rs 1.1 lakhs range, while top end variant with fuel injection could cost as much as Rs 1.25 lakhs.

The spy images also reveal, that the Pulsar RS 200 for India will also be available in single tone colours. Expect the dual tone colours only for top end FI variants, while the base variants will get single tone colours of blue, red, yellow and black. Dual tone options will get same colours, but with a splash of white.
