Finally the day has arrived when Bajaj Auto will launch the much awaited Pulsar RS200 (Race Sport). Within a few hours from now, every detail about the Pulsar RS200 will be officially revealed.
Based on the Pulsar 200 NS (Naked Sport), which was launched in 2012, the RS200 shares the same underpinnings. Right from the tyres, to chassis. But, don’t make a mistake to write off the RS200 as a 200 NS with fairing. Its definitely not.
To start with, the 199.5 cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine is slightly more powerful. It will generate 24.4 PS power as against 23.52 PS as seen on Pulsar 200 NS. Torque too has been improved by 0.3 Nm to 18.6 Nm. This has resulted in a higher top speed. Though Bajaj has not revealed top speed of Pulsar RS200 yet, they have confirmed that this is going to be the fastest Pulsar yet.
Next up is brakes. Though the discs are of same shape and size as that of 200 NS, the RS200 features ABS, front and rear. Apart from this, there is twin projector headlamp with LED DRL in the front, LED crystal shaped tail lamp, muscular looking fairing and a 12 litre fuel tank. Weighing 151 kgs, it has a power to weight ratio of 161.58 PS per tonne, this is as good as KTM RC200, which has a power to weight ratio of 162 PS per tonne. Another update which is expected is the FI system. Though this one is not confirmed yet.
To be offered in two variants, ABS and non ABS, starting price is expected to commence from Rs 1.1 lakhs. Bookings have already commenced across Bajaj dealerships in India, while delivery will start from April 2015.
First spied in 2013, it has been a long wait for Pulsar fans. Arguably the most awaited Pulsar till date, Bajaj Auto hope not disappoint.
