Official: Bajaj Pulsar RS200 launch price Rs 1.18 lakhs for non ABS, and Rs 1.3 lakhs for ABS (Photo gallery added)

Bajaj Pulsar RS200, with RS standing for ‘Racing Sport’ is officially launched in India. The company has revealed the fully faired Pulsar much to the excitement of every biking aficionado in the country.

 

Launched at a pstarting rice of INR 1.18 lakhs, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will be offered in two variants, with and without ABS. The non ABS variant is priced from Rs 1.18 lakhs, while the ABS variant is priced at Rs 1.3 lakhs – all prices are subject to ex-showroom New Delhi. This means, on road price of Bajaj Pulsar RS200 non ABS stands at Rs 1.29 lakhs, and that of ABS variant stands at Rs 1.43 lakhs.

On board features are akin to those seen on the 200 NS. Produced from the company plant in Chakan, Pune, Pulsar RS200 weighs 165 kgs, 20 kgs more than the 200NS. Dimensions stand at 1999 mm in length, 765 mm in width and 1114 mm in height while ground clearance is at 157 mm making performance across Indian road conditions more efficient. It has a wheelbase of 1355 mm and a fuel tank capacity of 13 litres.

Bajaj Pulsar RS200 features include twin projector headlights (55W low beam projector and 65W high beam projector), Fuel Injection System, MRF Zapper S tubeless tyres (front 100/80/17 and 130/70/17 rear) LED taillights and LED daytime running lights, single channel ABS front 300 mm disc (230 mm rear disc no ABS, rear ABS variant is only for export), while instrument cluster is very similar to that seen on 200 NS.

 

As far as engine specifications go, the new Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is powered by a 199.5cc, single cylinder, 4 valve, liquid cooled engine also seen on the Pulsar 200NS (Naked Sport), which was launched in 2012. This engine offers 24.4 PS peak power at 9,750 rpm and 18.6 Nm peak torque at 8,000 rpm. Bajaj Pulsar RS200 top speed is 141 kmph, 5 kmph more than Pulsar NS200, making it the fastest Pulsar ever.

 

Bookings of Bajaj Pulsar RS200 had opened at company dealerships well before official launch and even prior to prices being announced on a down payment of INR 5,000. Having made its official entry into India, the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will compete with Yamaha YZF-R15, KTM RC200, Hero Karizma ZMR and Honda CBR250R.
